Am I using the right electricity key and gas card?

Just look for the Boost logo.


If you’re using your old supplier’s key or card then you’ll be on the wrong rates, which means you might be paying more than you need.

Don’t have a Boost key or card? If you have an OVO card it’ll work just the same. But if not, just chat with us, 8am - 8pm Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm on Fridays, or 9am - 2pm on Saturdays.

If you need a new Boost key or card

  1. When you call us, we’ll give you an 8-digit code, which you need to scribble down.
  2. Wait at least an hour, take the code to a PayPoint shop and they’ll give you the new key or card.
  3. Register your new key/card by putting it into your electricity meter and leaving it for at least a minute. Don’t top up until you’ve registered your key.
  4. Start using your new key/card to top up.

Can I get a refund if I overpaid because of using the wrong key or card?

If you’ve definitely paid too much, we’ll help you to get a refund. Just chat with us and tell us what’s happened.
